DIY: Dip-Dye Hair Tips
And among a rainbow of colors, purple is red-hot these days, celebrities like Ashley Tisdale, Jessie J, and Christina Aguilera have all taken in the purple hair craze! But don’t let that intimidate your imagination. Peach, blue, red, or yellow, you can dye whatever color you want.
Here are some dip-dye hair tips which will help you do the fun colors yourself at home. Enjoy!
Let’s start with the tools. You will need: highlighting comb, clips, foils, color brush, hair bleach, the color you want to obtain (light purple color, for instance), and clear gloss.
Step 1: Highlight the tips of the hair using hair bleach. Be careful to highlight the length of the hair you want to color. You can highlight from 3 inches up to 6 inches, depending on the effect you want to obtain.
Step 2: Fold up the foil around the highlighted ends and wait a little until the ends of the hair reach a pale blonde. You can use heat to speed up the process.
Step 3: Shampoo and after that blow your hair completely dry.
Step 4: After drying your hair, place the end you want to paint on a foil and color it with the color brush. As a suggestion you can color your tip of the hair with a darker color than the one used on the higher end.
Step 5: Wash the colored tips of your hair, preferably one at a time and dry them.
And voila! Wasn’t that easy?
You can use your imagination and combine colors or even better use different colors for the ends of your hair. As an example you can use purple on one tip, pink on the other and blue on the third.
